Nälkäns face many struggles on the planet of Nerivia, especially against the Daeva occupation of the planet. The main fighting grounds in the Colony of Nerio are especially dangerous to many Nälkä, with multiple groups assaulting and posing threats to our people. However, some of the groups are also friendly and provide assistance, realizing our purpose is peaceful. This parchment exists to inform and provide assistance to the storied history behind some of our relations with these other groups, whether friendly or evil. 

The Daeva, our long time enemies and the reason Nerivia has been turned into a barren wasteland, are the one true enemy we have in this world. On Earth, they enslaved much of humanity until our rebellion which destroyed the Daeva on our world thanks to the power of the Grand Karcist Ion. They are slavers, demons, and not even human, driving primal fear into grown men when a pureblood Daeva meets their eyes. They are the original enemy of the Nälkä, and are the enemies of many of the other groups on Nerivia as well.

The Serpent's Hand is an organization that advocates for the rights and liberties of those that don’t fall into this idea of “normalcy” presented within the modern world against organizations that wish to do them harm or cage them. Within our time on Nerivia, the Daeva sealed off the Kiraak with barrier magic that prevented the growth of the Kiraak further. The Serpent’s Hand, however, broke the barrier and has been a consistent friend of the Nälkä, showing their goodness and nature to be true and virtuous. They are currently located within the former Kiraak with us due to their library being burnt down by the Daeva.

The Global Occult Coalition, one of the widest spreading organizations on Earth that deal with us, are against anything that doesn’t fit into their definition of “normal.” Their goal is to capture, study, and destroy anything that doesn’t fit into their ideas of normalcy. This leads to their organization being a natural enemy of the Nälkä, and us being in constant conflict with their patrols on Nerivia. If they don’t immediately fire upon you, be wary of their intentions and seek strength in numbers.

The United States Government has multiple organizations that operate on Nerivia to attempt to limit Daevite influence, including our own as well. These organizations, the Federal Bureau of Control and the Unusual Incidents Unit, are generally against our principals and find themselves against us in many situations. The Federal Bureau of Control follows something called “the Board” hiding many of their intentions. The Unusual Incidents Unit on the other hand is an extension of the United State’s Federal Bureau of Investigations, therefore being against most that don’t fall into their definition of normalcy as well. 

The Chaos Insurgency is a group that steals, hunts down, and obtains items that are dangerous and breaks the normalcy set up by many of the larger groups. They generally have their own agenda and sell their services to the highest bidder, whether it be as a private army or selling a rare artifact. However, on Nerivia, they have fallen victim to a false deities’ mind control and are being controlled by the Engine. They have become hostile to us due to this and should be considered to be dangerous when met.

The Horizon Initiative is a religious organization consisting of followers of the three Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They procure religious items relating to their faith that have been imbued with power and to protect the followers of their faith. They are generally neutral to us, with few exceptions. Recently however, their main religious center on Nerivia was assaulted and taken over by the Chaos Insurgency, making them take up residence with the Federal organizations on Nerivia. 

There are many groups and factions on Nerivia, with their own goals and purposes of being here. Some of them wish to do us harm, while others wish to coexist peacefully or assist us. Knowing who is the enemy and who isn’t is important to spreading the word of the faithful so you may keep your life, and those close to you. May Ion’s words guide you, and provide salvation
