The Ritual of Renovare (Latin for Rejuvenation) is the quintessential expression of devotion to the teachings of our Lord of Life. To perform the Ritual of renovare, 4 key aspects are mandated, which may or may not remain constant at any given place or time:

  • The first thing required is ####### extracted from the local Kiraak, which should be kept in an isolated spot with a delicate balance of humidity, as to not encourage cell degradation.
  • Secondly, one needs the consent of at least three other members of Nalka, ideally of the Solomonari tribe, to participate in the ritual.
  • Thirdly, the ritual should be performed strictly at night, in a rural area with a low population density. The aftermath of the ritual may prove devastating to the broader population of a given region, especially if a Karcist isn’t located nearby to assist in the prospect of a threat being posed to any populated settlements nearby.
  • Last but not least, the participants need to memorize the “Chant of Life” chant, and be able to perform it in synchronization. It is advised to dedicate a period of time to hone the tune to achieve a greater quality of  performance.

Description of the Ritual:

The four participants must form a circle around #######, and draw the sigil of Adytum around the object, trying to align the object in the center of the sigil. Afterwards, the participants must take their spots at the four corners of the drawn sigil and begin performing the “Chant of Life”. During the ritual, various anomalous events may occur, associated with visual, auditory and perceptual distortions of reality. The participants sometimes describe seeing each other in the form of Klavigar, with highly detailed physical similarities to the recorded drawings of the Klavigar. Additionally, participants may see a figure engulfed in flames appear right on top of #######, holding a staff bearing various ancient syllables which the participants can’t read but understand the meaning of.

When to end the Ritual:

Once the participants conclude singing the “Chant Of Life”, the #######, must be torn apart into four even pieces and devoured in quick succession. Afterwards a silent prayer of gratitude must be uttered, toward the Beacon of Life.

Alternatively, a more dangerous scenario arises when the participants start experiencing physical trauma and pain spreading throughout their bodies. The participants must immediately burn the #######, and dispose of the remains by burying them in the soil on which the ritual was performed. If the anomalies persist after the ritual has been concluded in such a manner, deep meditation and prayer are advised to stabilize the emotional state and reduce stress.

The most dangerous scenario occurs when ####### causes malformation in the biological functions or appearance of the participants, such as fusing bones or limbs together, or shaping the neurological structure of the participants. Such cases occur when an unprepared Orin usually participates in the ritual, and thus is required to keep a Karcist nearby, who may assist in reversing the effects of the malformation. If help cannot be sustained in the right amount of time, the participants may become hostile and begin assaulting fellow participants or any biological organism in close proximity, possibly malforming them as well.

The aftermath of the Ritual:

In the aftermath of the ritual, the participants may experience significant and rapid modifications in their physical, intellectual or spiritual capabilities. These effects can last indefinitely and may accelerate their understanding and education in various aspects of Nalka and occasionally grant unique abilities, such as the release of an enormous amount of energy in the form of an inferno.
