The Cathedral
The Adytite Remnants
Crimson Dawn Prologue
Summary
The Remnants gather within their wing in The Cathedral. It’s been some time since the Adytites have joined The Cathedral, at the peak of R’lyeh, they join for a ceremony and announcement from the current leader of the Adytite Remnants, the son of Klavigar Orok, General Otari.
The Kiraak has grown strong, fueled by tireless research by the Vātula and flesh delivered by the Hunters Black Lodge. Its primary purpose, to shelter the Remnants within a living fortress, but also, an open secret among the Adytites, to shelter the dormant body of the Grand Karcist. However, despite compounding effort over centuries and the breakthroughs in the past year, their Grand Karcist does not stir.
After receiving an ominous vision, General Otari takes a risk in sacrificing himself to provide a final breath of life into the Kiraak. As his body falls, the blood seeping through the cement into the living walls of the Adytite temple, a hand bursts from the floor. The Grand Karcist rises, somewhat mortified at the cost of her awakening.
The Pale Moon Sets on a Crimson Dawn
Transcript of the in-game event.
General Otari:
Welcome, Adytites and guests. We have worked tirelessly to cultivate this new home for us, alongside tentative friends and newfound enemies.
The world has changed greatly since our ancestors started this path. I am honored to have been the enforcer you all gathered behind in pursuit of our goal to save humanity. Our efforts have not been in vain. Research, experiments and bloodshed for our Kiraak. Sealed within this temple, this Kiraak and this tomb is our Grand Karcist. Their body was entrusted to us to protect and bring back to life one day.
Long ago, my father, Klavigar Orok waged war for our Grand Karcist and one day, that mantle fell to me. Since then, I have never stopped fighting but today, with the glimmer of a new dawn, I face a choice I never anticipated.
I expected to die gloriously in battle, covered in the blood of the enemies of my Adytite brothers and sisters. I believed that bloodshed, carnage and glory would bring about our victory. Today, I come to share that my death will be a quiet one in the company of those I hold dear. Today, I give up my strength, my fury and my life so that our future can be secured.
Otari falls, his blood pouring from his eyes, but he seems to be in no pain at all. A new figure coalesces from his body, Grand Karcist Iūn faces a crowd of Adytites, Brotherhood and Order followers.
Grand Karcist Iūn:
Where am I…? What happened to… No… What have you done..? No Adytite blood should have been given on my behalf. Son of Orok, I could never repay you for what you have done.
Children of Adytum, I sense the blood and the will of my Klavigar within many of you. I wish I could have been here with you all through the centuries. I have seen you grow from my dreams. There is still much work to be done before our salvation can be realized. But from now on, I will stand with you. This wretched world shall be saved.
Now, we must always make time for the departed. In honor of Otari, Son of Orok, we shall make battle in his name. I seek an Adytite champion. Who among my brethren shall fight?
From the Adytite Remnants, a Karcist of the Hunters Black Lodge (ArvidValkyrie) steps forward.
Grand Karcist Iūn:
ArvidValkyrie, I have seen your feats of finesse from the dream. You serve as a noble teacher to our flock of Vultures. May you bring honor to us.
As our generous hosts and neighbors, will the Order or Brotherhood send their finest for a glorious battle?
From the Brotherhood of the Black Pharoah, a Sphinx (CooI_Summer) steps forward.
Grand Karcist Iūn:
CooI_Summer, it seems you are the most eager. I know your kin and mine are no allies, but I entrust that you will fight honorably on this day and represent your Brotherhood.
Make ready, duelists. FIGHT!
The duel concludes, the two duelists exchanging blows, the posture bars slowly being whittled away. CooI_Summer lands the deciding blow, bringing the Karcist of the Lodge Vultures to his knees.
Grand Karcist Iūn:
What a splendid duel, I am most pleased to see that you honor the teachings of Orok well. With that, this brings our ceremony and celebration to a close.
Iūn departs shortly after to recover.
