Template:Page metadata
Template page
More actions
A short search and link-preview summary for a public page. It changes the HTML head only; keep the same information visible in the introduction. It does not add hidden article text or keywords.
{{Page metadata
|page=Help:Example
|title=Example guide
|description=A brief, accurate summary of this guide.
}}
- Set page to the exact full page title. A mismatched title emits nothing, including when another page transcludes this one. Update it after a move.
- Keep the description specific to the visible page. Do not paste keyword lists, promotional claims or another article's synopsis.
- Use title for a clear label; the site name is added automatically. Ordinary articles can keep their normal page title.
- Only public article, project, help, template, category and archive namespaces are supported. Private workspaces and user pages emit nothing.
- Use this once on the page itself. For template documentation, put the call inside
<noinclude>. Do not add it to a shared layout's<includeonly>output.
