The Adytite Remnants
"This world and all it denizens are doomed. Only we can save ourselves."
Residing within The Cathedral lies the Kiraak of the 'Adytite Remnants'. Enigmatic sorcerers who deal in the magic of flesh. Within this sacred temple of flesh, they actively work to elevate themselves and humanity to usurp the gods and resist incoming apocalypse.
Overview
The Adytite Remnants, often referred to as 'Sarkics' or 'Sarkites' by the world are a tight knit organization leftover from a Bronze Age civilization once known as the 'Adytite Empire' or in their ancient tongue 'Kalmaktama'. They dedicate themselves in service of their patron, The Sorcerer King, Iūn and saints of Sarkicism known as Klavigar. The Remnants are primarily lead by Karcists who are descendants of the Klavigar or powerful Sarkites from the original founding members.
The Adytites originate somewhere in central Asia where a monument was being built on the backs of thousands of slaves. One of these nameless slaves unearthed something beneath the monument that they were intended to build and then die for. Beneath the dark temple and beneath the earth, this slave came face to face with something unimaginable. Emboldened by the power of a deal struck, this slave chose a name for themselves; Iūn, which meant 'lowly' and 'wretched'. They raised 4 Klavigar and led a viscous rebellion against their slavers until they took the temple for themselves, naming it 'Adytum' — a word that meant 'Paradise'. But Paradise did not last. War pounded on the walls of their young city, the Adytites cursed to never know peace. Soon, that war would swallow Adytum and Iūn whole, forcing the Klavigar to give their lives so that some could flee the city. Adytum fell with Iūn at the epicenter and none left to tell the tale of the details of those final moments.
Many 'Sarkic Cults' formed from the ruins of this Empire, establishing a sour reputation for the ways of 'Sarkicism' as many of these splinter groups were responsible for disasters and monsters across history. The Adytite Remnants consider themselves to be superior to these 'imposters' and actively hunt them down or force them to bend a knee to the Remnants.
The primary characteristic of Adytites and Sarkics is their technique of manipulating biomass to enhance themselves and create what most would consider to be monstrous creatures. They seek to use this path of power to achieve immortality like Iūn and to weather the inevitable apocalypse by evolving humanity.

|---|---|---|
| The Sorcerer King | The ancient and immortal patron of the Adytite Remnants. | The Sorcerer King |

| Adytite Descendant | A second in command to a Remnants Sect. Their lives are marginally longer than the typical human and they wield deadly power. | Võlutaar |

In-Game Timeline
1. Introduction to the Cathedral
The Adytite Remnants arrival to The Cathedral was initially shrouded in secrecy, stirring an displeasure within those holding a distaste for the Adytite's methods. The R'lyehian Order, a mysterious organization worshipping Cthulhu, agreed to an alliance with them. Their collaboration was christened as the 'Pact of Red Dreams' — An agreement and set of regulations to determine the Adytite's allowances within The Cathedral and the protections afforded to them by The Order.
Despite an official alliance, there were mixed opinions within The Order. Some believed the Adytites did not belong there, shunning them or turning a blind eye during raids on The Cathedral targeting the Adytite's cathedral wing. Others choose a path of acceptance, believing the flesh sorcerers were necessary for the well-being of The Cathedral and The Order's own goals, particularly in fending off the growing threat of the Brotherhood of the Black Pharaoh.
Many battles were fought, the raiders constant attacks toward The Cathedral did not succeed thanks to the joint efforts of The Order and The Adyite remnants, specially thanks to our Hunter's Black Lodge troops aiding in the frontline, working hand-to-hand with the Drowned Guards and Leviathans alike.
This new beginning did not come peacefully as raiders targeted the weakened defenses of the Cathedral Sarkic Wing. With the aid of The Order's Leviathans and Drowned Guards, the Remnant's military force — The Hunter's Black Lodge, managed to push the intruders out of The Cathedral. However, this was only the beginning as the Adytite's ancient enemies, the Brotherhood of the Black Pharaoh would begin regular assaults. Adytites were hunted if they strayed too far from the safety of their new home, slaughtered, their bodies paraded around like trophies. The Brotherhood actively sought to assassinate the Adytite priests from the Church of the Red Harvest to finish the Remnants for good.
Now, this struggle continues as the Cathedral enters a new era with an uncertain path ahead.
2. Crimson Dawn
(W.I.P.)
After months of establishing a foothold in The Cathedral and empowering their living temple known as a 'Kiraak', the Adytites are met with the resurrection of The Sorcerer King, Iūn. Despite being brought back into the material world, Iūn is weakened, requiring time and further work until they can assist the Adytites.
Faction Relationships
The Order
Even though the Adyite remnants are not strictly allies with them, they follow a strictly neutral relationship with them. This means that both the remnants and The Order do not intervene in each other's business, but still sometimes both parties attend each other's rituals and traditions. Even some priests (CRH and Harbingers) share each other's belief with absolute respect and sometimes Troops from the HBL and Drowned Guards/Leviathans join forces when fighting the different raiding parties that constantly attack the Cathedral.
Even though neutrality prevails, from time to time conflict appears. Due to the failure to follow the Pact of Red Dreams sometimes Adyites and Order members have been seen fighting, often these conflicts end up with some casualties for both sides but do not tend to escalate any further so that peace between both parties continues even though some Order members are against it.
Brotherhood of the Black Pharaoh
A strictly hostile faction that actively hunts Adyites out of pure spite, members of this faction are purely hostile towards any remnant they find, engaging in combat as soon as they see a Sarkite. Any sort of mediation has been impossible and any sort of neutrality has been brief and tense (For example during the Corruption of Leviathans). Combat and hostilities have augmented between both sides and the killings and raidings have only increased.
Raiders
Independent raiders have been seen actively hunting Adyites, but given the inconsistency and interactions with them they are mostly considered hostiles. Even though combat between both parties has been seen, they don't tend to instantly engage with each other given some do not attack the remnants, still precaution is recommendable.
