The Ikuuna Canon is the fictional and primary setting centered around the mysterious Group of Interest known as the Sarkic Cults. It focuses on the return of the Nälkä in the modern age and the pursuit of their long established goals.
It takes inspiration from various other Sarkic focused canons and writings such as No Return, Bone Proposal, Stillborn City and In Memoria, Adytum.

Overview
Fractured after the collapse of the Bronze Age and the fall of the Kalmaktama Empire, the Nälkä retreated into hiding throughout the world, settling into reclusive villages or the shadows of larger civilizations.
Now, over two thousand years later in the modern era, the last echoes of the Nälkä spur back to action by a secret and growing movement known as the Adytum Initiative. In a small village located in central Siberia, the Initiative calls for the fractured sects of the Nälkä to gather and begin preparations to locate the long lost city of Adytum.
Plot
Over two thousand years have passed since the First Occult War, which resulted in Ion being banished to the Nevermeant, and his Deathless Empire crumbling to ashes.

Key Factions
The Sarkic Cults
Often referred to as the Nälkä among each other. Consisting of various sects scattered throughout the world, the Sarkic Cults are the result of the great diaspora of the Kalmaktama Empire during the Bronze Age Collapse. Many sects are isolated with little contact with each other and the outside world. Others are nestled closely within facets of society, exploiting the modern age for all its worth.
The Daevites
Former slave masters of the Sarkic Cults, the Daevites are a matriarchal theocracy that were crushed following Ion's slave revolt and rise to power. They have turned back time many times to avoid their inevitable destruction until finally even time was too rigid to change, leaving them but a fading echo to look back on.
Church of the Broken God
Followers of Mekhane, the Church of the Broken God (CotBG) are religious zealots that share polar opposite beliefs to Sarkicism, their feud dating back to the First Occult War when the Mekhanite Empire formed a coalition with several other nations to fight against the Kalmaktama.
The Foundation
Often referred to as "Jailors" by the Sarkic Cults, the Foundation view the Sarkic Cults with mixed opinions, some see them as a threat to the veil of secrecy, while others see them as beneficial to aiding the Foundation.
Notable Concepts
- Karcist – A spiritual leader or priest who guides others on the path of Sarkicism.
- Fleshcrafting – The ritual alteration of organic matter, especially one's own body.
- Ikuun – A metaphysical state of being; those who achieve Ikuun are considered "awakened".
