Akisa, despite appearances, is first and foremost a soldier. She fights physically, preferring to get her own hands dirty and seeing things through in person. Her talents for Fleshcrafting are weighted heavily into her own body, being a fluid shapeshifter and deceptively average for being built like a human bulldozer. |
Her scholarly knowledge is where she often falls short, sometimes being too impatient or too busy to sit down and enlighten herself with written works. She works on feelings and instincts that she’s built up over the years, especially as a leader. For better or worse. |
In person, she can be a little off-putting from her at best, reserved, or at worst, gloomy attitude. She means well, even if she comes off a little harsh, but there are few souls who know her well enough to know more than what shows on the surface. |

Akisa was a young slave during the earliest years of Ion’s rebellion. Akisa was liberated during the earlier period of the rebellion from a textile mill. She was eager to join the rebellion, but was forced to wait until she became a teenager to fight. Despite finding comfort in the backlines patrolling the slowly expanding Kalmaktama borders, Akisa yearned to do more. She was taken under the wing of a cunning Karcist mentor named Naimi. Under Naimi’s guidance, Akisa was placed undercover in a Daeva city to collect intelligence and act as a sleeper agent for when the city was to be sieged. The operation was a resounding success, but left a lasting impact on Akisa who was left rattled after months of being embedded in Daeva noble society. In the following months, Akisa would have a falling out with her mentor and part ways. |
Akisa continued her fleshcrafting alone, experimenting on her body endlessly until she was almost unrecognizable, having changed herself into a more masculine form to distance themselves from the haunting experience they had playing the role of a Matriarch heiress. They continued to pop up throughout the collapse of the Daeva Empire. |
However, despite the impressive feat, it seemed to have rattled Akisa into taking a drastic shift in identity over the following 2 years. Their fleshcrafting talent was used on themselves to take on a more masculine form and role in society. Akisa became recognized as a Karcist at the age of 19. Akisa pulled away from involvement in combat as the rebellion began to quiet down and the new Nalkan territories were being established. |
They remained a wandering soul even during the golden age of the Kalmaktama Empire, exploring the various corners of the continent until the War of Flesh and Bronze called them back to action again. They were elevated to the status of Karcist, but even that didn’t keep Akisa tethered. They continued to wander until the war brought them back to Adytum. |
As the Kalmaktama were getting their feet on the ground, more avenues beyond their humble planet were becoming known to them. Experiments and research were being conducted to travel off-world via The Ways. Akisa, in hopes of distancing himself from his ghosts, led an expedition through The Ways. However, the expedition overshot their destination, slipping out of their cycle and becoming stranded on Nerivia. |
The Fall of Adytum was horrifying and swift. Grand Karcist Ion disappeared and Akisa abandoned the fight to escort the civilians hiding behind the inner walls to flee the city. She led a large group of various stragglers away from the fighting. They stayed on the move for a few months to stay ahead of the Mekhanites scouring the continent for the last echoes of the Nälkä. |
However, despite the circumstances, the Nalka were kindly welcomed by the natives of Nerivia. Akisa had a difficult time adjusting at first, but found a glimmer of peace in teaching Carnomancy to the natives. This peace wavered first upon discovering that Akisa and the other Kalmaktama were not aging. |
One night, their entire camp was swallowed and spat back out onto an alien new world—Nerivia. They were stranded, with only Akisa and a few others to look to for guidance. Akisa was forced to truly step up as they settled for good on the planet. Despite the circumstances, the native life of Nerivia were welcoming and kind, granting a glimmer of peace. That peace shattered, when the Daeva arrived to conquer Nerivia. |

That peace finally broke when the Daeva returned. |

There were no tears, no fury when Nerivia burned. Deep in Akisa’s heart, this is what they had always expected from the Daeva. But still, quietly in the back of Akisa’s mind there was grief in being proven right yet again. |

History:
There were no tears, no fury when Nerivia burned. Deep in Akisa’s heart, this is what they had always expected from the Daeva. But still, quietly in the back of Akisa’s mind there was grief in being proven right yet again.
