Solomonari:People Of Interest/Klavigar/Klavigar Nadox

From Echoes of the Flesh

Klavigar Nadox

Age: Approximately 4000 years old

Affiliation: Nalka/Sarkic/Loyal to the Grand Karcist Ion

Klavigar Nadox (Lord of Mysteries) is one of the four High Karcists/Klavigar of the Sarkic Cults and the patron of wisdom and knowledge. Being called upon for guidance and enlightenment, the transcendent being is believed to be the originator of the universal Nalkan alphabet, utilized by the majority of the proto-Sarkic cults, and the author of most scrolls, encompassing a plethora of topics, from Nalkan history to the various techniques used to “ Shepherd The Flesh,” preserved to this day, albeit in a very decrepit shape, rendering them mostly unusable.

The date of Nadox’s birth, alongside his genealogy, remains a mystery, yet it is presumed that he was born around 4000 years ago, in the most southern territories of the Daevite Empire. Being conceived in the ideals of peace and tranquility, Nadox spent his whole life diligently analyzing and memorizing the teachings of the ancient thinkers and philosophers, becoming a sage of his own at an old age. During that period, bearing witness and receiving news of the many atrocities occurring inside the Daevite Empire, Nadox began preaching  his teachings  throughout the Empire, challenging many cruel acts of the Empire. The ideas of peace and equality resonated throughout the slave population of the Empire, soon rallying massive support. The Daevite elite deeply despised such a threatening and oppositional movement. The Daevite authorities captured Nadox and publicly tortured him, beating him with lashes numerous times, before blinding  and cutting his tongue off. Additionally, a mark bearing the name “Sufferer” was carved on his forehead as a sign to torture Nadox, yet not fully kill him, dooming him to a lifetime of torment until the very death. Thus, Nadox became a pariah, wandering the lands of the Empire, weak and diminished, with the slaves who once supported him, now forced to torture Nadox in the  most brutal ways possible.

Though the suffering of the frail and melancholic sage did end soon, as one night he suffered from a fever dream, during which he saw a prophetic vision, during which   a mythical being appeared in front of him, announcing that the dawn of  a new era is nigh, an era which will be rid of  “suffering and tears”. Inspired yet skeptical, the sage decided to leave in search of this mythical, messianic persona, having nothing more to lose in the pitiful state he was already in. Thus, he travelled to the uttermost northern regions of the Empire, soon meeting the mythical being, The Grand Karcist Ion himself, who treated Nadox of all of his afflictions, fully restoring the sage to his former glory. Soon Nadox joined the philosophical and rebellious movement, becoming the first disciple of Ion, a Klavigar, having tremendous success in that. Soon, the miniscule rebellious force spread and grew into a massive rebellion, succeeding to overthrow the Daevite rule and establish the Kalmaktama Empire, with the capital of Adytum. During this period of the golden age, Nadox utilized his vast knowledge of Sarkicism and the local cultures of each of the empire’s provinces to formulate a universal language, used to this day. Additionally, participating in an enormous amount of scientific research and contributions further empowering  the military and technological capabilities of the empire.

As the salvific mission of  the empire expanded to new territories, bring forth the words of Ion, the Kalmaktama Empire soon encountered  a mechanized and deeply industrialized force, with an opposing philosophy and worldview, the Mekhanite Empire, with its leader, known as Robert Bumaro as of today. Soon, the tensions between warring philosophies and geopolitical interests grew into a militarized conflict, with both sides declaring war on each other. Due to the apparent threat the Kalmaktama Empire posed, the majority of the human civilizations of the Bronze Age joined the Mekhanites against the Kalmaktama Empire, sparking the “ First Occult War”. It is unknown how Nadox contributed to the Kalmaktama Empire during this period; it can be confidently presumed that the vast knowledge Nadox sustained and the philosophical differences of peaceful existence as opposed to the warring political realities rendered him a merciful and talented strategist, akin to the grand strategist of the southernmost territories where Nadox was born. Eventually, the Kalmaktama Empire couldn’t sustain its onslaught for long, being  pushed by the superior numerical advantage of the Mekhanite coalition. Province after province was lost to the relentless march of machine and men, culminating at the battle of Adytum.  The Grand Karcist himself commanded the battle, unleashing a powerful flurry of attacks, ending the lives of thousands upon thousands of adversaries, before the very “Builder of the Broken God” initiated a duel with the divine creature. The brutal contest lasted hours, with no side seemingly having an edge over the other, yet, in the end, with the assistance of the allied forces, Ion was defeated…However, not dead, as the city and Ion himself did vanish, presumably into another dimension. The Kalmaktama Empire soon fell apart into countless smaller tribes and nomads, who spread throughout the world, hiding from the ire of the Mekhanites.

Though the fall of Adytum was a major blow, Nadox didn’t waver in his faith, staying true to the Sarkic ideals. He travelled the Earth, preaching his wisdom and offering assistance to those who requested it, soon gathering a large following, forming a travelling caravan. Though the exact whereabouts of Nadox remain unknown, it is self-evident that he is still roaming the globe, and spreading the ideals of peace and Nalka through the nations.
